Marked Locos

Sometimes you need to record the fact that you have seen a loco (unit etc), but you don't have the date of the sighting.  For example, I can remember visiting the cab of 87013 at Glasgow Central, sometime in the late seventies, but I don't have the exact date.  One option for this would be to add a record with a guess at the date, eg "01/04/1976" - this would at least then be in the log.  Another option in SpotLog is to use the "Mark Loco's" feature.

Marked Locos allows you to record the sighting of a loco, without recording a date or time of the sighting.  Marked loco's does not record the location of a sighting either.

There are various ways to mark a loco:

  • Enter the number through the NotePad using the "Undated" Entry mode
  • Use "Mark Mode" on the class page in the Book
  • Change an existing record into an undated record, see Edit Record
  • Mark the loco on the Loco Records page

See Undated Records for details of how to mark a loco using an undated record.
