About Page

SpotLog app's About Page can be reached from the Settings tab: select the settings tab and tap the "About" button near the top of the page.  Tap "Back" to return to the previous page.

The about page shows some app stats, including the version number and the app's internal log.

Database and App Stats

The top of the about page shows the following app stats

  • Num Records: the number of sighting records in the log section of the database.
  • Num Classes: the number of classes in the book section of the database.
  • Num Locos: the number of locos (and units etc) in the book section of the database.
  • Num Seen Locos: the number of locos, units etc that have been seen.
  • App Version: the app version.
  • DB Size: the size of the app's database in kilobytes.
  • Memory use: how much device memory the app is currently using.

App Log

The app keeps a log of various internal events, such as fetching data and updates from the server.  Any internal errors will be logged in the event log as well.

You may be asked to look in the log when raising a support request, and the app event log can be queried by SpotLog support during a Remote SQL Support session.

The log does not keep all events, but only the most recent events - otherwise the log and database would grow indefinitely.
