Prefixes

Some loco's carry numbers with one or more character prefixes to the number, for example some departmental stock:

Prefixes particularly apply to department stock, preserved diesels (often have a "D" prefix, eg "D3358") and preserved units and coaches (may have a regional prefix, eg "W", "E", "S") etc.

The Prefix button on the NotePad keypad ("D") enters a prefix into the number field.  Tapping the "D" key again replaces the first prefix with the second prefix, then the third prefix and so on.

By default the prefixes go "DR" > "D" > "E" > "W" > "M" > "S". So to enter preserved DMU "E50619" we would tap the "D" key three times, then enter 50619.  You can of course enter the "E" using the normal device keypad, but you may find the "D" key quicker and more convenient.

You can customise the prefixes in Settings.  In the NoteBook section of settings, the setting "Prefixes" lists the prefixes, separated by commas.  Edit this setting to change the prefixes the "D" button cycles through.
