Preservation Sites

If you have loaded the UKP (UK Preservation) dataset, or some other datasets, SpotLog will also show the item "Preservation Sites" in the Book.

The item "UK Sites:  UK Preservation Sites" in the set list shows UK preservation sites.

Tap "UK Preservation Sites" to show the preservation site list:

By default, preservation sites are listed in alphabetical order.  If you have "Show recent preservations sites at top of list" set in Settings, then sites you have recently viewed will be at the top of the list (eg "Avon Valley", "Dean Forest", "Mid-Hants" etc at the top in the view above)

Tap the entry for the site/railway you want to view - SpotLog will open the list for that site:

The site view shows:

  • The site title (Eg "Bluebell Railway" above)
  • The number of items in the SpotLog database listed for that site/railway
  • The number of those items marked as seen in your data
  • The list of locos/units/coaches etc, the list is grouped by the dataset they are in, eg "UKP: UK preserved" etc.  For each item, SpotLog shows:
    • The class photo.  Note that this is the image for the class, not the specific locomotive.
    • The loco number, name and type
    • A tick if the loco is marked as seen, a camera icon if marked as photographed and the train icon if the item is marked for haulage.
    • " Spot" button: tap this and a log record is created for the item using the current date and time, and the current note/location set on the NotePad page
    • " Photo" button:  tap this and a log record with "Photographed" is created for the item using the current date and time, and the current note/location set on the NotePad pag"
    • Haul" button:  tap this and a log record with "Hauled" is created for the item using the current date and time, and the current note/location set on the NotePad page
    • you can also tap an item in the list to open the Loco Records for the item

Tap the "back" button to return to the preservation site list.
