Founded in 1930, SCHÖMA can look back on a success story of almost 90 years. The foundation stone for the company was laid by Christoph Schöttler, the grandfather of the current managing director.
The first SCHÖMA locomotives were mainly used for peat extraction and in gravel pits. Whether under the English Channel or through the Alps, in the Underground of London, Athens, New York or Singapore and from America to Australia - SCHÖMA locomotives operate on plantations, in peat bogs and tunnels all over the world.
To date, SCHÖMA has delivered more than 7100 locomotives and rail vehicles around the world.
