Brush Traction was a manufacturer and maintainer of railway locomotives owned by the American company Wabtec Corporation, and was based at Loughborough in Leicestershire, UK, situated alongside both the Midland Mainline and the former Great Central mainline.
In 1889, the assets of Falcon Engine & Car Works LTD were acquired by the London-based Anglo-American Brush Electric Light Corporation, which moved the 100 miles north into the Falcon Works at Loughborough, under the new name, Brush Electrical Engineering Company Limited. Train manufacturers WG Bagnall, Crompton Parkinson, and Hunslet Barclay have all been merged into Brush Traction.
In 2021 operations at Brush Traction were merged into the Wabtec company’s Doncaster UK operations and the Loughborough operation closed.
