Original steam locomotives on the line from 1863.
The first four locomotives, "Princess", "Prince", "Mountaineer", "Palmerston" were delivered with side tanks.
No3 "Mountaineer" was withdrawn in 1879, the remaining four loco's were rebuilt with saddle tanks. A new build replica of No3 is under construction.
Welsh Pony is of larger design "Large England" and was built in 1867 and after a period plinthed, was restored to working order in 2020. A sixth engine "Little Giant" was also the "Large England" design and was withdrawn and cannibalised in 1929.
