In 1916, two type 85.9 locomotives from M.k.A.G. were delivered to the Vagvölgyi erdei vasut railway and were given the names VEV 1 and VEV 2. After the establishment of Czechoslovakia, the railway and locos were renamed to Považská lesná dráha, PLD 1 and PLD 2. In 1938 the locos were given their current markings, U45 902 and U45 903.
Restoration began on U45 903 in 2001 and it went back into operation in 2009 on the Ciernohronská zeleznice railway.
